With the close links of Britania Navel College in the town, A Royal Navy vessel acts as guard ship for the regatta. The colours of the hulls reflect in the sunshine. Several small steam ships are moored in the port. On of the favourite events of the regatta is Friday's rowing. Whalers and "Blue" boats are used by eights, fours and twos.
