11th August 2009 - British fireworks championships - Plymouth
For the 13th year the city of Plymouth is hosting the British fireworks championships. For two nights in August, 6 teams provide thousands of spectators with fantastic displays. Using Mountbatten breakwater for the displays, crowds line Plymouth Hoe and Jennycliff to watch. Plymouth Sound is full of small boats looking for a spectacular viewpoint.
For heat 1 on Tuesday evening I found a pitch down by the water line opposite Mountbatten breakwater.
The first team is Dragon Dynasty.
The second display of the evening is from team 2 Phoenix Fireworks.
Phoenix Fireworks had to wait until the end of the second heat to find out they have won this years championship.
The third and final display for the first heat is from Skyburst.
