A38 Dobwalls Bypass - Monthly changes on the A390 by the railway bridge.On a dangerous bend at Treburgie Waters, the Penzance to Paddington railway line crosses the A390 over a low bridge. 6th April 2008. Over the second weekend more of the tunnel sections have been put in place. 31st March 2008. Over the weekend the first of the tunnel sections have been put in place. 29th March 2008. From Beneathway we can see the precast sections for the new tunnel and the foundations waiting to be put into place. 22nd March 2008. As the earth from the old A38 is moved to this embankment we can see the foundations of the new railway bridge and the precast tunnel sections. 20th January 2008. By the railway reinforcements are being constructed for the road bridge / tunnel. 3rd November 2007. Overnight on the 28th October the traffic lights at the A390 junction were switched off and the A390 down to the railway bridge is blocked off. This will allow the infill of the existing A390 to create the embankment over the railway bridge. Below is the old A390 going down from Five lanes. 2nd September 2007 - The embankments contine to gain height. 19th May 2007 - Earth from the roundabout excavations is piled up either side of the railway bridge. 29th April 2007 - Work starts on a new slip road to temporary divert the A390 to the roundabout and embankment for the flyover over the railway line. 20th April 2007 - The railway embankment is also being cleared in preparation for the embankment. 18th March 2007 - Groundwork continues for the foundations of the flyover that will take the A390 over the London to Penzance railway line. 12th December 2006 - In the bypass scheme a new link road will be built from the roundabout on the A38 west of the village. This link road will go over the railway line before rejoining the A390 west of Treburgie. |
