A38 Dobwalls Bypass - Monthly changes at the new roundabout. On the Western edge of the village a new roundabout is being constructed. This is where the bypass will meet the A38 along the Glynn Valley and the A390 which will go over the railway line. 3rd November 2007 - Overnight on the 28th October the temporary diversion of the A390 was opened. With the traffic lights switched off at Five lanes, A390 traffic is now using the roundabout. 21st October 2007 - The westbound traffic is also diverted onto the roundabout and the original A38 lies disused with the cats eyes removed. 7th October 2007 - The Eastbound traffic coming from the Doublebois direction is directed onto the realigned A38 and onto the new roundabout. The Westbound traffic stays on the old A38 until the new westbound carrigeway is finished. 2nd September 2007 - Kerb stones are being laid and we can start to see the shape of the new roundabout emerge. 21st May 2007 - This is the cutting for the roundabout. Access is being maintained to the farm buildings. 29th April 2007 - Along the existing A38 from Doublebois the road will be realigned. 18th March 2007 - Earth is moved to create the embankment for the A390. 25th February 2007 - Temporary lights are installed ro control heavy plant crossing the A38 to construct the new roundabout. 21st January 2007 - To the west of Dobwalls there is a "Y" junction where the A38 and A390 split. This junction will be replaced by a roundabout. |
