A38 Dobwalls Bypass - Monthly changes at Lantoom23rd February 2008 - The top surface has been painted with the road markings. I think this road will be bought into use sometime this week. 9th February 2008 - The base layer of the road has been laid. 2nd February 2008 - Kerb stones are being laid for the Moorswater Distributor Road. 20th January 2008 - A second bat bridge has been constructed. 20th January 2008 - Kerb stones for the Moorswater distributor road are being laid. 3rd November 2007 - From the lane by Tuelmenna we can look back over Moorswater, Lantoom and Petersfield. 21st October 2007 - At Lantoom the contractors have filled in the dip by the old layby. A temporary slip road has been built up to the line of the Moorswater distributor road. Where a new entrance to Lantoom Quarry has been constructed. 2nd September 2007 - This is looking up the hill towards Dobwalls. The entrance to lantoom Quarry has been altered. 31st August 2007 - The entrance to the quarry has to be realigned. 16th August 2007 - Earthworks continue below the quarry entrance. 29th July 2007. 8th July 2007 - The route of the Moorswater distributor road continues to become more defined. 19th June 2007 - The route of the Moorswater Collector Distributor raod becomes more defined. 3rd June 2007 - The layby below Lantoom layby is cleared and the old lane to Boduel is built up with earth.. The quarry is still operating. A banksman controls the crossing of heavy plant. Apart from access to the quarry the layby is completely closed. 19th May 2007 - By Lantoom Quarry earth covers the lane for the new distributor road and the junction on the lane to Boduel is being realigned. 20th April 2007 - From Tuelmenna we can look south over the valley. Down to Lantoom Quarry and the temporary lights on the hill. At Lantoom work has started on the route for the Moorswater distributor road. 31st March 2007 - Down by the Lantoom layby I noticed some strange coloured trees. Some of the trees have been deliberately left in place and artificial trees have been added. These are to help the local bat colony navigate as they need trees for their echo sounders to bounce off. 7th October 2007 - The unnamed lane to North Boduel to the South East of Dobwalls by Lantoom layby. |
