A38 Dobwalls Bypass - 23rd April 2009 - Opening CeremonyTo mark the completion of the A38 Dobwalls bypass the Highways Agency held their official opening ceremony. Invited guests assembled at the Dobwall Memorial Hall and were taken by coach along the new bypass to the ceremony site at Looe Mills layby. Next to the bypass and in view of Moorswater viaduct Nirmal Kotecha, the Highways Agency's Director of major projects welcomed the guests. Nirmal Kotecha introduced the Hon Paul Clark MP, Parliamentary under secretary of state, Department for Transport. Simon Ohlenscglagar, Interserve's Director of Infrastructure. Colin Breed, MP for South East Cornwall. and Councillor Derek Newton, Chairman of Dobwalls and Trewidland parish council. Paul Clark MP, Parliamentary under secretary of state, Department for Transport, unveiled a commerative plaque. Assisted by Jessica Strutt, Paul Clark, the Parliamentary under secretary of state, Department for Transport, planted a commerative tree. Official photographs were taken. Back at the memorial hall Paul Clark was shown the display and met Pam McNamara and Jessica Strutt who won the adult and junior sections of the recent photographic competition. |
