Six restored lifeoats visited the port of Fowey this weekend.
They moored close to Fowey’s present RNLI lifeboat the Maurice and Joyce Hardy.
Ryder - a 35ft self-righting row boat with sails was the oldest lifeboat present.
Ryder served from 1902 until 1930 in Looe.
The William Cantrell Ashley, a restored Liverpool class lifeboat was built in 1949 and served in Clovelly from 1950 to 1969.
The Frank Spiller Locke, a Barnett class lifeboat was built in 1957.
Other ex-RNLI lifeboats present were the Oniros, a Watson class lifeboat built in 1938. Douglas Currie, a Mark 2 Solent class lifeboat built in 1973 and Lowestoft based Michael Stevens, which was built in 1939 and was one of the ‘Little ships’ that took part in the Dunkirk rescue on June 1 1940.
At 4.30pm there was a procession through the harbour of all of the ex-lifeboats.
They were joined by Fowey’s own operational lifeboats, the Trent class Maurice and Joyce Hardy and the D class Olive Two.
