The harbour with ancient granite quays is tidal.
Luggers and a Tall Ship lie at anchor in the bay.
There are self drive motor boats.
Boat trips go out to seal island, but today there is a seal in the harbour.
On the quay there is a small fishermans chapel - St Leonards.
As the tide goes out the boats beach themselves.
From the island we look east over St Ives bay towards Godrevy
Lighthouse or west to the Tate St Ives and Porthmeor Beach.
