12th June 2010 - Mevagissey.The cornish fishing port of Mevagissey is ready to welcome visiting luggers for the inaugral working sail regatta.A number of traditional fishing vessels are expected to visit the port this weekend. The luggers moor up in the outer harbour. Moored behind is Colchester based LN196 Victorious. The yellow lugger is FY20 Vilona May. Lowestoft sailing trawler LT1192 Keewaydin is moored inside SS19 Ripple and FY519 Ibis. The fishing fleet weave in and out of the boats moored in the outer harbour. The Fowey - Mevagissey arrives. The sail is raised on a smaller lugger. The festival flags reflect in the inner harbour at low tide. There is always activity on the water here. |
