26th September 2009 - Zapcat Racing - Watergate BayHeat 14 - Division Two finals.Watergate bay near Newquay is the venue for Heat 14 of the Zapcat racing season. The racing this Friday and Saturday are the final rounds of the season. 6 teams line up for the division two final. The green flag drops and the Zapcats hit the incoming surf. The waves are close together as the Zapcats leap into the air. The zapcats turn and run close to the shore. At the next bouy a tight left turn, and the teams head back out over the surf. Suddenly one of the Royal Marines teams in "Zapcat 14 - Contact wait out" and "Zapcat 28 - Westgate relentless" get to close and the Marine co-pilot is thrown overboard. One of the other Relentless teams "Team Relentless Zapcat 35 Nine Lives" tries desperately to miss the obstructions ahead of them. having to pass between the two upturned Zapcats. And raise thier hands to acknowledge the red flags stopping the race. After the Zapcat 14 is recovered the remaining teams restart the heat. |
