18th April 2009 - Gorseth Kernow proclamationThe bards of the Gorseth Kernow have gathered in Saltash for the proclamation of the 2009 Gorseth. The Gorseth exists to uphold the Celtic traditions of Cornwall.The procession leave the Guildhall and walks up Fore Street. The Tamar bridge and Brunel's railway brige can be seen in the background. The lady of flowers and grand bard are at the end of the procession. The bards arrive in Victoria gardens. the proclamation ceremony begins. Following the call from the Herald Bard, the Horner makes symbolic calls to the four corners of Cornwall. The lady of flowers and her attendants present the gift of Spring to the Grand Bard. The proclamation finishes with the singing of: "Bro Goth Agan Tasow". "Old Land Of Our Sires". The procession leaves Victoria gardens.
