21st August 2008 - Red Arrows over FoweyIt is Fowey Regatta week again and one of the highlights of the week is 6pm on Thursday when the Red Arrows use the river estuary as an ampitheatre for their display. The weather this year was very low cloud, so I parked at the National Trust's Pencarrow Head car park and walked into Polruan. As I approached Polruan the cloud base raised a little. With all the bad weather none of the fields were open to cars this year. Bang on 6pm they appeared from the West. From my position by the higher car park in Polruan we were at eye level with the Hawks. Even though they performed the low level display the synchro pairs still used the valley to the maximum. |
