13th August 2008 - British fireworks championships - PlymouthFor the 12th year the city of Plymouth is hosting the British fireworks championships. For two nights in August, 6 teams provide thousands of spectators with fantastic displays. Using Mountbatten breakwater for the displays, crowds line Plymouth Hoe and Jennycliff to watch. Plymouth Sound is full of small boats looking for a spectacular viewpoint.The sixth and last team to go on the second evening is Pendragon Fireworks. Awarding them first prize, the judges later said the Pendragon display won because it had the best colour, co-ordination and rhythm. There is a full moon watching over the display.
