14th July 2008 - Murren to Schynige Platte
We travel from Murren to Wilderswil to catch the Schynige Platte Bahn which has been taking people up to the Schynige Platte since 14 June 1893.

The Bergstation Schynige Platte is above the tree line at 1970m. Here the rain falls as snow.

On a good day we would have pamoramic views over the Jungfrau, today we are in cloud.

At the far end of the station is the entrance to the Alpengarten.

Here we can find over 600 species of alpine flora.

Founded in 1927 the alpine gardenb is looked after by the alpine garden association.
