22nd July 2007 - Abbaye de Beauport - Brittany
These gothic ruins lie some 2.5km South East of Paimpol. Founded in 1202 the Abbaye served as a port and overnight stop for pilgrims heading for Spain and Santiago de Compostela.
The first thing that greated us was a magnificant meadow in front of the ruins overlooking the sheltered harbour and orchards.
