A38 Dobwalls Bypass - December 2008- Railway bridge and new A390.Finally the infill of earth over the new tunnel is finished. Along the old A390 the entrance to the site compound has been moved back up the hill. We can now see the tunnel mouth with the earth embankments on each side. From the old A38 we can look over the old site of peracres portable buildings and see the line of the new A390 over the tunnel. Already the base layers of tarmac have been laid. Cones still control the temporary A390, but we can now see where the new road will tie into the roundabout. Further along the A38 towards Doublebois we can look back over to the embankment and railway tunnel. Down by the old railway bridge we can we the other side of the tunnel. |
