A38 Dobwalls Bypass - Village protests in 2000Back in 2000 the villagers of Dobwalls decided to protest against the continued delay by previous governments to do anything about the congestion the village faced. So during the summer of 2000 we staged a number of protests with placards along the A38 as it dissected the village. I had taken a number of images of our protests and with the August bank holiday fast approaching we decided to print up 5000 postcards that we could send to the them Department of Environment Transport and Roads. We used 3 of my images and the reverse was addressed to the Minister responsible, in the hope that the frustrated motorists would complete the card and post it off, so the minister's post bag becomes full with constant reminders of our situation! |
