21st February 2008 - London - Temple ChurchOne of the oldest churches in London, this medieval church was built by the Knights Templar, and is notable for its circular nave.Behind the alter is a wooden reredos on which the lords prayer is inscribed. On the floor in the circular nave we find effergies of the patrons who supported the Knights Templar. The choir was added to the original round church in 1240. The central east window includes pegasus the mythical flying horse. 548 ft long and three feet deep in places |
