On the side of the quarry we can find the remains of Daniel Gumb's cave. Moved from the middle of the quarry this is all that remains of a stone cutters house.

Daniel Gumb was fascinated with astronomy and geometry. We can still see the triangle and squares of Pythagorus's theorum carved into the roof stone.

Cheesewring Quarry is on the south side of Stowes Hill. On the top we can find flat rock formations in the shape of cheeses, which gives the largest stack the name "Cheesewring".
