3rd February 2014 - Sunrise, Flooding and Storm Waves in Looe.

How deceptive our weather can be, the wonderful sunrise this morning over the Banjo Pier was accompanied by strong South Easterly winds.

All contributing to create a tidal swell, forcing the spring tides to overlap the quayside.

swamping the storm drains to flood East and West Looe.

As the tide goes out the full extent of the damage to Hannafore's sea defence wall becomes clear.

Half ton concrete blocks tossed around by the power of the sea.

Just goes to reinforce the advice from the RNLI and Coastguards, not to take risks along the shore line during strong winds and seas.

Some of the worse flooding I have seen in Looe since the mid 70's.
