On the Sunday closest to the Summer Solstice the bards of the Gorsedh Kernow made their way to the Hurlers on Bodmin Moor near Minions.
The Hurlers is a Bronze Age Monument (c.1500 BC) consisting of three stone circles in a line.
Led by the piper and the horner the bards walk across Bodmin Moor towards the Hurlers.
It is a grey overcast day with a strong wind blowing.
The bards found it challenging to hold the banners in this strong wind.
The bard take up their positions by each of the standing stones.
The Gorsedh banner is taken around the stone circle.
The bards have gathered at the middle of the three stone circles.
The grand bard addresses the gathering.
During the ceremony the book of life is handed from the elder to younger generations.
At the end of the ceremony the bards return to Minions village.
