After the start of the return leg was postponed for 24 hours due to adverse weather 19 entrants left Fowey just after 10am this morning.
The Sailtica is a new cruiser-racer, the departure and arrival port is Pornichet, Pays De La Loire, France.
The event is open to monohulls, with a minimum length of 8.50m.
St Catherine's castle and Gribben Head daymark guard the entrance to the Fowey estuary.
The 19 competitors In departed in groups of 4, at 10 minute intervals.
The strong wind made tacking very tricky in the River estuary.
Challenging conditions just after the start line.
The start line was just off Fowey Town Quay between the Royal Fowey yacht club and Polruan.
Out in the bay, a South West wind of 25 knots with a swell of 2 to 3 meters.
Arrival in Porchinet is expected late tomorrow or early Sunday morning.
