There must have been over 30 pilot gigs on Millendreath beach.
Each Regatta has several heats - so there as well as club supporters there are crews for, Mens A, Mens B, Under 16’s, Ladies A, Ladies B, Under 14’s, Veterans and Mixed.
The races started off Millendreath beach.
The course is in Looe bay.
Rowing west towards Looe island.
Local boats acted as course marshalls and the safety team.
The gigs pass fishing trawlers returning to Looe.
They reach the first marker bouy.
and turn to start the cross leg.

The gigs turn at another bouy and head back to the finish line off Millendreath.
After crossing the finish line they return to the beach, where the next crew is waiting.
A quick change over and the next crew head back to the start line for their heat.
Frantic activity on the beach as crews change over.
Unfortunately due to worsening sea condisitons the Under 14's race had to be cancelled on safety grounds.
