Grid ref SX 650 440 - Burgh Island is just off Bigbury on Sea. On the island is a famous art deco hotel. Remember Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot?

As we arrived the tide was starting to go out. The sea tractor was ferrying people and guests to and from the island.

As the tide goes out a Land Rover takes over from the sea tractor. Fromn the island we look over the mouth of the River Avon which flows down from Dartmoor.

If you are thirsty there is the Pilchard Inn on the island.
