I got to the seafront just as Looe RNLI's D-741 Ollie Naismith was launched.
Sailing dinghies from Looe Sailing Club were also being launched at the same time.
The crew of D-741 "Ollie Naismith" wait in Looe bay for further instructions.
The crew ferry local Coastguard and Police onto the island where the area is secured and images of the ordnance sent to RN Bomb Disposal.
Identified as a Phosphorous marker RN Bomb Disposal attend and detonate the marker in a controlled explosion.
