3rd May 2014 - GB Ocean Ski Series - Race 1 - Portwrinkle - Looe - Millendreath.

GB Open Ski Racing claim long distance ocean ski paddling is a rapidly growing watersport in the UK.

Bringing together the spirit of physical effort, great competition and ocean paddling skills in a friendly sporting environment.

Race 1 of the 2014 series started at Portwrinkle on the Rame peninsula in cloudy conditions with a strong southerly wind,

paddling across Looe bay to enter Looe River.

Turning on a bouy in the middle of Looe River, the course then circum navigates Looe island.

before heading to the finish line off Millendreath beach.

Here are some of the competitors as they pass the Banjo Pier and head up river.

There are different classes, solo, tandem and outrigger.

There are choppy conditions at the river mouth.
