Built on a flat plateau above sheer cliffs Piano is known locally as Planities.

The neoclassical Villa De Sangro di Fondi or Villa Fondi is an important national monument, has two floors, and is located on an amazing sheer cliff above the sea, with a spectacular view of the gulf of Naples.
The Villa has special memories for us as it was the venue for our daughters wedding.
Below the Villa's trerrace a small harbour, Porto M di Cassano, is cut into a steep valley.
Each Monday along Via Delle Rose is a thriving market.
The Basilica of St Michele Arcangelo is built over the ruins of a pagan temple.
Dedicated to the Patron Saint "St Michele Arcangelo", the basilica also exhibits four marble statues representing the angels attributed to sculptors from the Bernini school.
