It takes approx 40 minutes to sail around the Sorrentine peninsula to Positano.
Positano, perched on a near vertical cliff claims to be the most picturesque and photogenic of the Amalfi towns.
Houses are peach, pink and terracotta colours, covered with flowers and vines.
Divided by the Torre Trasita tower the Spiaggia del Fornillo lies to the West and the more popular Spiaggia Grande where the ferry docks lies to the East.
The coast road Via G Marconi runs along the top of the town. Houses cascade down to the sea with narrow lanes and steps to explore.
Shops and restuarants spill out onto the lanes.
Just above the beach is the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta.
Spiaggia Grande is made up of grey volcanic sand, a public beach at one end and the private beach with sunbeds and parasols at the other end.
