With winds gusting up to 30 knots (55 km/h / 35 mph) todays race is fully on the edge, sailing from the inside out.
The crews get in some last minute practice before lining up to start the fleet race.
Todays they are sailing course number 6, nine legs with 6 gates, starting and finishing just off Tinside Lido.
Nine AC45 catamarans are close to the shore as they attempt to get the best position for the run up to the start. Then Energy Team capsizes.
Withe help of the support boat Energy Team are righted and they start the race.
As the team jostle for position to cross the start line Green Comm Racing stalls and Artimis Racing collides with them.
Green Comm Racing's skipper Vasilij Zbogar fell off the back of the Spanish boat injuring his hand, already penalised, Green Comm racing withdraws from the race and returns to the race village at Millbay.
Out in front at the first mark are the two Oracle Racing Teams and Emirates Team New Zealand.
The drama continues as China Team capsize by the first mark.
The race rules allow for the support team to held right the catamaran.
and China Team rejoin the race.
Out by gate two, five ac45's battle for position.
The two Oracle Racing teams are neck and neck closely followed by Emirates Team New Zealand.
There is nothing between them as they negociate gate three.
Emirates Team New Zealand fly through the mark.
Through the gate and onto the next mark.
Team Korea at mark three.
After the capsize China Team are in last position.
At the last gate Dean Barker split onto the other side of the course than the Oracle Racing teams.
On opposite tacks they meet in the middle and Emirates Team new Zealand passes inbetween the two Oracle racing Ac45's.
It is going to be tight at the gate.
China Team are still in last position.
Oracle Racing 4 Spithill breaks away from Emirates Team New Zealand to win the fleet race.
Emirates Team New Zealand finish second with Oracle Racing 5 Coutts third.
At the final mark Artimis Racing capsizes.
A member of the crew has fallen through the wing sail.
With the aid of the support teams Artimis Racing is righted.
In the final stages Aleph passed Team Korea to finish fourth.
What an epic battle for the final fleet race, three capsizes, one collision and several near misses.
