Officially on service this week, D-741 has been named Ollie Naismith after a local teenager tragically killed in a road traffic accident.
The RNLI's website states this new lifeboat is of the very latest design and is faster than Regina Mary and it is fitted out with the latest high-tech navigation equipment and an updated first aid kit.
Three of the Looe RNLI volunteers, Toby Bray at the Helm, Jamie Curtis and James Chudleigh took the new ILB up and down the river.
The ILB is always washed down before returning to the boathouse.
