For the fourth year, two teams of mounted riders try to score goals in this strategic but physical game.
The umpire is Barbara Zingg, who is the Polo manager at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
Each team has three players.
Tonight the dark shirts of team Midas, Ed Olaf, Tim Vaux and Andrew Blake Thomas compete against
Team Joules in the white shirts, Richard Blake Thomas, Jamie Le Hardy and Andy Burgess.
A game of Polo is divided into four sections called chukkas.
Each chukka lasts for seven minutes but can take over 20 minutes to complete with stoppage time.
Earlier in the evening the horses were warmed up by their grooms.
During the match each rider can chnage horses as many times as they like.
This gives the horse a rest. Playing on sand is more difficult and exhausting than on grass due to the soft surface.
The final score is 9 goals to team Midas 5 and a half goals to team Joules. The half a goal was awarded on player handicap.
As the sun sets the polo horses are led off the beach by their grooms.
