Paddling against the tide they want to beat the 2008 record of three and a half hours, but paddling into the wind took them 4 hours and 10 minutes to finish.
Setting off from Tregonhawke beach in Whitsand bay is it a 10 mile paddle to Looe.
The lifesavers covered the distance on rescue boards, using just their arms to paddle through the water.
The RNLI tell me that the original line up of eight lifeguards changed slightly, with two pulling out due to illness or injury and one addition. The final line up was James Millidge, Joel Bishop, Beau Gillett, Charlie Gillett, James Crump, Conner Waldock and Mike Waffer.
On their arrival in Looe, the lifesaving team joined the Looe Lifeboats in a joint training exercise just off Looe beach.
A boat is on fire and casulaties are in the water! The Looe B Class Atlantic 75 "The Alan & Margaret" is launched.
The Lifeguards adopt a kneeling position on the 3 metre boards and use just their arms to propel themselves through the water.
The Looe D Class boat Regina Mary follows as the Lifeguards use their own A class boat to bring a casualty to shore.
Whilst the lifeboat crew deal with the fire, a lifeguard swims another casualty to the beach.
The stricken boat is towed into the harbour, the other boats return to station.
